Deep-fried zucchini flowers

  1. 15 zucchini flowers
  2. 200 g flour
  3. salt
  4. 1 egg
  5. 200 ml mineral water with gas, cold
  6. mineral water with gas, for handling
  7. 1 L oil for deep-frying

1. Clean zucchini flowers, remove pistils and rinse with cold water. Carefully dab dry with paper towel.

2. Mix flour, 1/2 tsp. salt, egg and mineral water to a thick dough in which the flowers can be dipped. Stir the dough vigorously, if it is too thick, stir in some more mineral water.

3. Add oil to the pot. Heat the pot on highest level up to the roasting window, switch to a low level and place in the Softiera insert.

4. Pull zucchini flowers one by one through the dough so that the flowers are evenly covered with dough. Add one by one to the hot oil and deep-fry until the turning point is reached.

5. Turn and finish deep-frying zucchini flowers uncovered until golden brown.

6. Remove zucchini flowers from the oil using the Softiera insert and allow to drain on paper towel. Deep-fry the remaining zucchini flowers in the same way.

7. Zucchini flowers are best served hot sprinkled with a little salt.
