minced meat

Meat, sausages and fish

Minced meat is finely chopped meat that is mostly made with a mincer. As it is finely shredded, it has a short cooking time and is used mostly for Bolognese sauces, chili con carne and as base for meatballs and burger-patties. It should be sold only on the day of preparation and processed as quickly as possible as it is easily perishable. It can be made from various kinds of meat, like for e.g. pork, beef, poultry, veal or lamb. Often pork and beef are also bought mixed together.
